Clinical Information
- A disorder marked by anemia caused by iron deficiency, and a web-like growth of membranes in the throat that makes swallowing difficult. Having plummer-vinson syndrome may increase the risk of developing esophageal cancer.
- A syndrome characterized by dysphagia, upper esophageal webs, iron deficiency anemia, and glossitis.
- A syndrome of dysphagia with iron-deficiency anemia that is due to congenital anomalies in the esophagus (such as cervical esophageal webs). It is known as patterson-kelly syndrome in the united kingdom.
