Clinical Information
  • A condition characterized by the activation of the whole or some part of the ventricle by the transmission of an atrial impulse along an accessory pathway rather than by way of the normal specific conduction system which includes a delay at the atrioventricular node.
  • A congenital electrical function abnormality in the heart. It is characterized by the presence of an accessory conductive pathway between the atria and the ventricles which causes the activation of the ventricles earlier than anticipated. Characteristic electrocardiographic findings are a short pr interval and a wide qrs complex with a delta wave.
  • A disorder characterized by the presence of an accessory conductive pathway between the atria and the ventricles that causes premature ventricular activation.
  • A form of ventricular pre-excitation characterized by a short pr interval and a long qrs interval with a delta wave. In this syndrome, atrial impulses are abnormally conducted to the heart ventricles via an accessory conducting pathway that is located between the wall of the right or left atria and the ventricles, also known as a bundle of kent. The inherited form can be caused by mutation of prkag2 gene encoding a gamma-2 regulatory subunit of amp-activated protein kinase.
  • A form of ventricular pre-excitation characterized by a short pr interval and a normal qrs complex. In this syndrome, the atrial impulse conducts via the james fibers which connect the atrium to bundle of his bypassing the upper atrioventricular node. Heart ventricles are depolarized normally through the his-purkinje system.
  • A group of conditions in which heart ventricle activation by the atrial impulse is faster than the normal impulse conduction from the sinoatrial node. In these pre-excitation syndromes, atrial impulses often bypass the atrioventricular node delay and travel via accessory conducting pathways connecting the atrium directly to the bundle of his.
  • A syndrome characterized by premature contractions of the ventricles due to the presence of an accessory conductive pathway between the atria and the ventricles.
  • A type of ventricular pre-excitation resulting from the activation of an accessory pathway known as the bundle of kent. This pathway presents an abnormal electrical communication from the atria to the ventricles. Wolff-parkinson-white syndrome is characterized by a short pr interval and a long qrs interval with a delta wave.
  • Association of paroxysmal tachycaria or atrial fibrillation and pre-excitation characterized by a short pr interval and a long qrs interval with a delta wave.
  • Extra impulse-conducting tissue in the heart that creates abnormal impulse-conducting connections between heart atria and heart ventricles.
